Summer Flights Season at the Height!

After a long lockdown we all crave new adventures and now when we are finally free it is necessary to take our best chances!
We are glad to inform you that we have resumed jet trainer flights and just for the last week have performed nine flights.

What would you prefer? Maximum g-loads and breathtaking aerobatics or a calm flight just to enjoy the view? Or maybe a pair sync flight with your best friend or your beloved?

Summertime is the best period for the flights and if have been long dreaming of it is high time to put off the doubts!

The winter season of jet-plane flights has begun!

Russian frosts do not frighten the real extreme-lovers. The first winter day, 1.12.2018, started with a flight of our guest from Switzerland who is a pilot himself. In frosty sunny days, the airfield acquires a unique allure. A thirty-minutes’ higher aerobatics programme on L-29 can fascinate both amateurs and advanced pilots. Meanwhile, Mansur aerobear refuses to hibernate and demands morsels and fun.

In a couple of days, there were more flights on the L-29 jet trainer and on L-39 jet trainer with a Canadian guest. L-29 planes are simple and reliable in control and you can try to fly it yourself by performing some maneuvers. L-39 is a modern modified model.

More skies, more flights, and more new impressions are ahead. There’ll be enough adrenaline for everyone!

Breaking down the barriers

Everyone spends their summer in their own way: some watch TV-series, some go to the countryside, some go to the cinema and some perform higher aerobatics flight programmes on the legendary training jet L-29 Delphin and combat training jet L-39 Albatros! Adrenaline lovers and the connoisseurs of truly bright and extraordinary impressions have already felt all the palette of feelings from the flights on L-29 and L-39 this summer.

Even the guests of FIFA Worldcup Russia 2018 from Brazil, Mexico, the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Spain, China, Saudi Arabia and Russia didn’t miss their chance to see the world from new heights and to try on the role of an ace of military aviation.

During this summer there were performed 50 flights! The most popular was the pair sync aerobatics which leaves you and your partner with common impressions. Meanwhile, someone decided to strengthen relations with their dear and near ones and to give them a unique opportunity of a flight on L-29 or L-39 by presenting them with a gift certificate.

World Cup in the Skies

This year Russia hosts World Cup attracting lots of tourists from all over the world to our country. But sure they come not only to support their national teams but to get some bright impressions.

As it is commonly known Russia is one of the leading aerospace countries thus jet trainer flight with higher aerobatics in Russia is a perfect adventure for extreme enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable experience.

Filming Project for Danish TV

Our Company successfully implemented a very interesting project for Danish TV2.

Currently the Central channel is filming a movie about Russia travelling around our country in search of fantastic places. And naturally in the country famous for its aviation and cosmonautics the real airfield is one of the most exciting places.

In the framework of this program the anchorman performed 30 minutes flight aboard L-39 Albatros. Our pilot demonstrated highest skills and capabilities of the aircraft performing various aerobatics such as low passes, rolls, turns, zooms etc.

Onwards and Upwards: Summer MiG-29 Flights Program

Again we are glad to share bright pictures of our recent flights.

For the last week Vegitel Company has arranged 5 flights aboard MiG-29 jet fighter.

This time most our pilots were Russian citizens but among them were guests from Finland and Great Britain as well.

Worth mentioning that it was our flight to be the first after some break in flight performance.

All our guests decided on Edge of space flight. This flight program enables not only to watch the Earth from extreme altitudes but either to challenge yourself with breathtaking aerobatics performed by professional Sokol plant test pilot.

April,12th — World’s Aviation and Cosmonautics Day

On April 12 we celebrate World’s Aviation and Cosmonautics Day. 56 years ago on April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin performed first spaceflight proving that there is nothing impossible. From the times of Leonardo Da Vinci humankind has dreamt of conquering skies and space; this flight lasting for just 108 minutes became a great breakthrough, a triumph of S. Korolyov scientific genius and opened up new horizons and opportunities for humanity.

On this day we congratulate not only those dealing with aerospace industry directly but either usual aviation and cosmonautics fans.

According to our tradition we wish you successful launches, soft landings and space health! Never stop conquering new heights!

Flights in the spring air

The first month of spring “pleased” us with variable and unpredictable weather – rainfalls, snow and mist.

But MiG-29 Fulcrum is the all-weather fighter. And in the stratosphere we always have a bright sun shining. Our flights take place under any weather conditions!

Last March our guests from different countries of the world – Japan, Italy, Canada, Australia and Bulgaria – visited “Sokol” airbase and fulfilled their unforgettable flights to the Edge of Space on MiG-29 jet fighter. Congratulations to our new sky conquerors! Wishing them to reach the space heights in their everyday life as well!

Ladies Conquer the Skies

Spring weather in Russia is not that cheerful so far but still grey skies and gloomy drizzle cannot spoil your day if you have spring in your heart!

Vegitel Company successfully arranged two Edge of Space flights for a couple from Switzerland. Despite the fact that occupation of a pilot is considered to be for men only we try to disprove this prejudice. The ladies keep pace with the men!

Our sky conqueress impressed everyone who saw her with enthusiasm and optimistic state of mind, accomplished most complex advanced aerobatics without any sign of fear and was absolutely delighted with her amazing aerospace experience.

And naturally since in Russia we celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8, all ladies who visited airbase got traditional bunch of spring tulips.

A Gift for Real Men!

On February 23 we celebrate Defender’s Day in Russia. What can be a better gift for a real motherland defender than thrilling aerobatics aboard supersonic MiG-29 jet fighter? That was a present our hero got from his beloved!

Every man at least once in a lifetime dreamt of being a pilot or a cosmonaut, of piloting a real military jet fighter and our sky conqueror had a chance to make his dream come true taking a seat in second pilot’s cockpit of unique 4th generation jet fighter while his dear accompanying him to the airfield watched her personal air show from the ground.

Saint Valentine’s Day in the Edge of Space

On February 14 people in many world countries celebrate Saint Valentine’s Day and according to the tradition make love confessions, surprise their beloved with some romantic gifts or just put everything aside to spend time with their beloved.

But deep within their hearts many brave men want to conquer their ladies’ hearts by performing real exploits! For instance this year Saint Valentine’s Day at Sokol airbase in Nizhny Novgorod will be remembered for a very long time. Dmitry, the hero of our story decided to make an unforgettable present to his sweetheart Evgeniya – an Edge of Space flight onboard MiG-29 jet fighter.

Despite the fact that flight schedule was very tight we managed to arrange two flights on that remarkable date! Dmitry was to fly first while his beloved was the next to conquer the Edge of space.

Within the shortest time possible due to the teamwork of all specialists the airfield was decorated with candles, hearts, various romantic stuff and a huge 25-meters banner that was to attract the girl’s attention who was performing breathtaking aerobatics in the skies and contained words of marriage proposal. Such proposal in the middle of breathtaking aerobatics couldn’t leave her indifferent and she was extremely impressed and naturally her answer upon the landing was “yes”. Frantic adrenaline of the flight and special atmosphere of this event made the day unforgettable for our heroes!

We are very proud that we successfully put into life such idea since it was the first-in-history marriage proposal made in the Edge of space.

Sokol Plant 85 Years Anniversary

Vegitel Company congratulates its longstanding partner on a jubilee. On February 1 Sokol Aircraft Plant celebrates 85 years of its establishment.

On February 1, 1932 the plant officially started operating, that time it was named Ordzhonikidze Gorkovsky Aircraft Plant #21. Polikarpov I-5 fighter was the first to be produced by a brand new plant.

In 1930-ies legendary Valery Chkalov was plant’s chief test pilot.

In the years of the Great Patriotic War the Plants’ staff had been working up to 24 hours a day producing up to 24 aircrafts per day. The plant and its workers made a great contribution to the Victory; thus every third fighter taking part in military actions was produced by Gorkovsky plant.

In 1949 Gorkivsky Plant started cooperating with Mikoyan-and-Gurevich Design Bureau producing MiG fighters.

For the years of its operation Sokol plant has produced about 13 500 aircrafts exporting them to more than 30 countries.
Once again we congratulate our partners on this great date and wish them further prosperity.

From Italy to Japan

Last week Vegitel Company successfully arranged four jet fighter flights. This means that four more people made their dream come true.

We are very glad to see that geography of our flights tends to expand: a guest from Japan, Italy and two guests from Australia came to Nizhniy to conquer Edge of Space aboard MiG-29 jet fighter.

Our pilots were in luck with the weather thus two of them even could reach record altitudes of 18 250 and 18 750 meters. And of course there is no flight we perform without stunning aerobatics.

In the process of video making the most advanced aerial shooting technologies we apply for our touristic flights was used.

First Winter Flights 2016

According to calendar winter has just started but in fact it has already covered with snow the great part of our country. Nevertheless as you know neither snowfall nor frost can prevent our MiG-29 jet fighter from taking off.

On December 5 Vegitel Company arranged Edge of space flight for a pilot from Switzerland.

Taking a seat in second pilot’s cockpit our brave guest reached 17 000 meters altitude and experienced g-loads up to 5,5g.

Journalist Performs Edge of Space flight

Russian First 1st channel’s TV program “The Sentry” dedicated a piece of news to MiG-29 jet fighter.

The anchor Alexei Rafaenko visited Sokol airbase and performed an Edge of Space flight onboard MiG-29 jet fighter.

The program also uses the shootings by famous aviation-related photographer and video operator Arthur Sarkisyan included those made during the fights arranged by our company.

Edge of Space Flight for the Tourist from England

Flights of our tourists aboard MiG-29 Fulcrum fighter jet take place all the year round. This week, one nice sunny, but cold day our airbase was visited by Thomas – our guest from England.

Thomas is an experienced traveler. Despite of his young age he has already visited 34 countries looking for the new impressions. However the ride to the stratosphere on a supersonic MiG-29 fighter is not an ordinary pleasure travel – it a real adventure!

During this flight our sky conqueror climbed to the 18 600 meters (more than 60 000 feet). And while completing the following advanced aerobatics program the G-forces reached “cosmic” values of 7,3 g.

Russia Today TV has published a new video filmed during one оf our demonstration flights of tourists aboard MiG-29 Fulcrum.

The main peculiarity of the video is that it was filmed with a special 360 panoramic camera installed in a tailor-made protective housing on the tail of the fighter jet.

The project was implemented in cooperation with a well-known aerial photographer and videographer Artur Sarkisyan.

Falls in Russia can be so bright that the memories about that prettify the severity of winter. And this year Russian winter turned to be early and as always unexpected – despite of the calendar our winter flights season has been started in November.

And it just rises the value of our guests’ emotions, which managed to catch the last nice days of the autumn and completed their amazing MiG-29 flights over the purple-gold woods rivers not icebound yet.

September: Summing Up

Since school we associate September with a beginning of a new life, with new plans, new goals and new achievements. We start September, 1 with our eyes wide-open and are absolutely ready to move forward and conquer the whole world. We have decided to sum up intermediate results of our work. Our September may be characterized with a few key-words. Let’s list off those epithets.

First of all our September used to be truly international. Tourists from Israel, Canada, Great Britain, Japan came to Sokol airbase to make their dreams come true. By the way for the first time in history Iranian guy went to the Edge of Space. This was our common achievement and we are so proud of it.

Second, our September may be called a family month. Our guests came to Sokol airbase with their families and it was such a pleasure to see their passion, enthusiasm and excitement, to feel positive emotions and make pleasant memories.

One of the touching memories is that Fair Ladies joined our male team of sky conquerors. Russian beauty bravely overcame her fear, experienced overloads and of course couldn’t stay indifferent after such an unforgettable adventure.

We are glad to start our fall season this way and hope to move on as we know the path we should use
in order to achieve our high goals.

August Rush: Breaking News from the Airfield

On August 22 Vegitel arranged Edge of space flights onboard legendary Russian MiG-29 jet fighter for two guests from Germany.
Even morning downpour couldn’t spoil their plans especially considering the fact that MiG-29 is an all-weather fighter but fortunately while they were passing preflight preparations the weather improved.

After going to the altitude of 17 000 meters, experiencing g-loads up to 7g while performing aerobatics our happy sky conquerors will remember this fantastic experience as one of the most incredible events in life.

Breaking News from the Airfield

Despite the fact that this May the weather is not as good as we expected we are trying to do our best fulfilling our customer’s dreams. On May 17 and 18 we arranged two flights for our guests from Switzerland and Germany. One of them chose aerobatics; the other making up his mind that such a cool opportunity to take a seat in the second pilot’s cockpit of MiG-29 needs to be seized up to the limits said yes to our most impressive program ‘Edge of space flight’.

Historically all our gusts are not just come-and-go people, they all love skies, long for aerospace adventures and are interested in space and aviation; and naturally such people indeed cannot stay indifferent after MiG-29 flight.

MiG-29 flights in Victory Skies

Moscow has just seen marvelous Victory Parade dedicated to the 71th Anniversary of the Great Victory. Naturally MiG-29 jet fighters were also taking place in the parade. Legendary Russian “Swifts” aerobatic team showed high professionalism of Russian pilots and the perfect technical abilities of our aviation in bright May skies.

Now every aviation fan can try what it is like to be a pilot. Straight after the Victory Day we performed two flights: guest from Germany chose edge of space flight which is our most popular program but despite the fact that it also includes aerobatics preferred to focus on quiet flight. Our Russian sky conqueror on the contrary preferred higher aerobatics, g-loads and adrenaline.

MiG Flights on first Days of May

Despite long May holidays we keep flying Mig-29. While Russia enjoys relaxed holidays our foreign sky conquerors don’t waste their time. Guests from Sweden, Australia, Argentina and Great Britain came to Nizhny Novgorod for Edge of space flight and unbelievable aerobatics.

G-loads from 5 to 7 g, altitude up to 17,5 kilometers, low speed passes, rolls, combat turns and many other – no aviation fan can stay indifferent after such an adventure. Look at our photo report and feel inspired!

Anniversary Flight

On April 12 the whole world celebrated 55th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin spaceflight. Our guest celebrated this remarkable event in space style and though he didn’t enter the orbit but has been to the Edge of space performing a flight onboard our MiG-29 jet fighter.

Alexander got flight certificate as a Birthday gift in January but patiently waited for the right moment. Indeed what can be better than a higher aerobatics, edge of space and almost space g-loads on such a space date? This flight gave him a chance to feel like a part of cosmonautics history.

All the Storms to Spite

Sometimes long-awaited spring greets us not with clear skies and sunny days but shocks by severe snowfalls just like this year. This was what our guests who came to Nizhny for miG-29 jet fighter flight had to cope with.

Our first Edge of space conqueror from Great Britain was a little bit luckier since he had a chance to perform his flight on the date planned despite gathering snowy clouds. Being a father to three children he was dreaming of jet fighter flight since he was a kid and naturally this experience was a great event for him.

Other two pilots from USA and Germany faced unexpected obstacle. At the day of their flight it was snowing so heavily that for the first time in 55 years Nizhny Novgorod saw monthly norm of precipitation falling at once and even our all-weather MiG-29 jet fighter couldn’t fly.

That’s why we always have back-up day and though next day the weather also left much to be desired both guests could perform their flights going to the maximum altitude, performing thrilling aerobatics and experiencing g-loads up to 6 g.

Good Time for New Endeavours

We are glad to share good news!

Bad February weather could not interfere with our guests’ plans and three more lucky guys – two Russian and one UK citizen – joined our Sky Conquerors team.

Family Space Tour

Early February a family from New Zealand came to Russia for space tour. Mother and son performed Edge of space flight onboard MiG-29 jet fighter and after that went to Star City.

The young man is very interested in space so for him 9-minutes Centrifuge TsF-7 ride according to Soyuz liftoff schedule was a must indeed.

Besides our brave space and sky conquerors studied Soyuz spacecraft and Russian ISS segment design and layout, learned a lot about Mir space station and even had a chance to meet real Russian cosmonaut.

Per aspera ad astra: conquering space heights through the storm

In 2016 the Cosmonautics has a great jubilee. 55 years ago humanity took the first step to space exploration when Yuri Gagarin performed manned spaceflight for the first time in the history of mankind.

People of various occupations and nationalities from Great Britain, Canada, USA, France, New Zealand and naturally Russia are conquering Edge of space onboard Russian MiG-29UB all-weather jet fighter despite heavy snowfalls.

After flight to the Edge of Space some of our foreign guests were still not ready to rest. They made up their mind to go on with unbelievable experience visiting Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre where they not only learned lots of new facts on space exploration but challenged themselves passing real space trainings: centrifuge TsF-7 ride, Sokol rescue spacesuit training, specialized training on space cooking, Egress-2 simulator training in Orlan EVA spacesuits, Soyuz spacecraft integrated simulator training and even standard flight day on Russian ISS segment simulator. Such great achievements can really pave their way to space!

While everyone is getting ready for Christmas and New Year celebrations we are working hard to make your dreams come true.

Late December two foreign extreme adventure fans came to Russia to get bright impressions. Our guest from Finland was the first to perform Edge of Space flight and higher aerobatics and was fully satisfied with such unbelievable experience.

Mexican pilot in the Edge of Space

Once again Vegitel Company helps sky conquerors to make their most incredible dreams come true.

A guest from sunny Mexico ignored nasty weather of Russian November and came to Nizhny Novgorod to perform Edge of Space flight onboard MiG-29UB jet fighter.

By the way he is quite an experienced pilot but this flight was the first one onboard jet fighter thus without any doubts he was greatly impressed by breathtaking program comprising not only edge of space but higher aerobatics either.

Unbelievable Adventures of the Japanese in Russia

Two young space fans from Japan came to Russia for unbelievable space experience. The friends are interested in aviation and cosmonautics, practice sky-jumping that’s why tour in Gagarin Cosmonauts Training Centre impressed them greatly. During excursion they learned much about Soyuz spacecraft and ISS design and layout, saw how Mir space station looked like and passed the training on Egress-2 simulator. This unique training in Orlan spacesuits enables the cosmonauts to practice further extravehicular activities. Special systems simulate support-free condition thus participants of the training feel like real cosmonauts performing a spacewalk.

After such trainings it is high time to go to the orbit! Or at least to the edge of space. So our guests went to Sokol airbase in Nizhny Novgorod to perform Edge of space flights.

Unpredicted heavy snowfall couldn’t stop our all-weather MiG-29 jet fighters; both guests performed the flights as planned and were extremely happy. Our sky conquerors concluded their tour with sightseeing tour around Nizhny.

Again we are glad to share great news: due to our Company four more people succeeded in making their dream come try performing a flight onboard legendary Russian MiG-29 jet fighter. Among those were three Russian guys and one Swiss citizen.

Naturally all our guests did things in a big way choosing the most impressive and interesting program – Edge of space flight while our unique Vegitel Multiangle technology of multiview video will enable them to return to those breathtaking moments over and over again.

Flight for the Lucky One

Наш гость оказался очень неординарным и позитивным человеком, выиграв в лотерею (а в лотерею, кстати сказать, он выигрывает уже второй раз), он решил осуществить свою мечту и совершить полет в стратосферу на борту знаменитого российского истребителя. Говорят, некоторые мечты должны оставаться мечтами, но это не наш случай. Перегрузка 6,5 g, полный набор фигур высшего пилотажа, адреналин – полет полностью оправдал все его ожидания и даже превзошел их!

Кроме того, в этот день телеканал Russia Today снимал на заводе сюжет о полетах, и наш гость просто не мог не попасть в объектив телекамер: он дал интервью, рассказав о своих впечатлениях.

В завершение своего удивительного приключения наш пилот посетил музей авиабазы и подарил всем, кто помог ему в осуществлении его мечты, памятные подарки.

Tastes differ: Edge of Space VS Aerobatics

On the threshold of magnificent MAKS-2015 airshow our foreign decided to feel like real jet fighter pilots performing flight onboard MiG-29 UB.

On the flight day the skies were grey, it was drizzling and the weather was quite nasty so the ordinary people would call it “non-flying”. But neither rain nor even snowfall can stop our all-weather MiG-29 jet fighters.

Though our guests chose the same program – Edge of Space flight their preferences differed. Aviation fan from Estonia was the first to fly, and his top priority was flight to the edge of space. So he fulfilled his plan to see the curved Earth horizon while light higher aerobatics program added dynamics to his adventure.

The next day was Australian pilot’s turn to fly. He on the contrary wanted to challenge himself focusing on higher aerobatics program and experienced g-loads up to 7 g.

Rising Sun in the Edge of Space

Japanese tourists continue showing great interest to Russian aerospace adventures.

This week we have arranged three Edge of Space flights for gusts from the Land of the Rising Sun.

And even despite the fact that at first the weather was not quite good (actually it is not a problem for MiG-29 UB all-weather jet fighter) and there was sheeting rain during the first take-off it neither spoilt the impressions of the flight for our guests nor them from enjoying the flight.

A bit later the weather improved and breathtaking higher aerobatics in clear after-rain skies impressed not only our sky conquerors but everyone watching the flight. Besides two of our guests were married couple coming to the airbase together with their 2-years old son who watched his mother and father performing magnificent aerobatics onboard our jet fighter. By the way both mother and father felt well after the flight and were very happy.

Flight before a thunder

We have depicted a great tendency: the Land of the Rising Sun citizens are showing increasing interest to Russian aerospace adventure programs and our new sky conqueror proves that well.

According to tradition foreign guests are especially fond of our Edge of Space flight program since it enables to combine flight to the highest altitudes reaching the edge of space with higher aerobatics performed in the second part of the flight.

Spring-summer season is an amazing time for jet fighter flights and we are glad to introduce our new sky conqueror to you.

The hero of this story was born in Balakhna town not far from Nizhny Novgorod. By the way Balakhna is a mother-town of great Russian leader Kuzma Minin, who played an important part in Russian history during the war against Polish and Swedish invaders in the beginning of 17th century.

Being an experienced pilot he was familiar with such notions as actual speed, indicated speed, ascentional force, Mach, etc. and that is why he has chosen the brightest and most exciting flight program – Edge of Space flight – combining flight to the altitude limits and higher aerobatics.

Unstable May weather was close to interfere with our plans: the day before Nizhny Novgorod saw a thunderstorm but at the day of flight the city welcomed our pilot who came to the airbase together with his son with clear blue skies.

The child was very interested watching preflight preparation and upon completion of all these operations said “I am going to be a pilot!”.

When we hear such words of a 7-year old boy we see that the sky of Russia will be in good hands.

With a feeling that the duty has been fulfilled our hero took a seat in his helicopter and flew back to his airfield, while our MiG-29 jet fighters stayed to wait future sky conquerors.

Great Victory Parade held on Red Square of Moscow is over but in Nizhny Novgorod at Sokol airbase you may watch military machines of magnificent power at any times.

Our guest from Switzerland came to Russia at great time: this year we celebrate 70-years Anniversary of Great Victory and naturally at this times such experience as jet fighter flight when you feel like real jet fighter pilot sitting in the cockpit is getting even more exciting.

Having experienced g-loads up to 9 g and performed all higher aerobatics possible our sky conqueror felt good and was fully satisfied with his flight. After the flight he visited Sokol Airbase history Museum and learned more about the development of Soviet Aviation during the World War II and unfadable act of courage of all those heroic people defending their Motherland.

Welcome back: new space programs for our old friends

It is always nice when the guests come back again after successful programs that is why we were very glad to welcome our friend from Switzerland coming to conquer the space with us two years after our first project.

In August 2012 Walter Egger took part in zero-g flight, visited Star City and Monino Museum of Air Forces, had a tour around Moscow and Sergiyev Posad and now he became one of the participants of our Baikonur spaceport tour. Naturally what could be more exciting than to see the crew off to space especially provided that the crew is very special since Mikhail Korniyenko and Scott Kelly will be the first cosmonauts of 1-year long mission and Gennady Padalka is going to set up new record on total duration of work onboard the ISS, to take part in all prelaunch events, to watch the rocket lifting off and flying to the night skies?

But just seeing the cosmonauts off to space was not enough for our friend and he went after them performing Edge of Space flight onboard MiG-29UB jet fighter flight. This adventure turned out to be even more bright and memorable since Walter was a pilot himself and how can a pilot stay indifferent face to face with such technological perfection as all-weather all-powerful jetfighter. Our guest performed higher aerobatic himself felt good and was extremely satisfied with the flight.

Besides Walter visited Moscow planetarium and cold war museum “Bunker-42”, Sokol airbase museum in Nizhny Novgorod, had a tour around this ancient Russian city and went home carrying wonderful memories and impressions about his unbelievable space trip to Russia.

Lifelong readiness to fly

We go on with our reports from the takeoff runway of Sokol airbase. Today we have arranged a flight for TV Company from UAE.

In comparison with yesterday flight arranged for Japanese guests the weather changed dramatically, the sky was cloudy with light snow falling but our pilots are always ready to fly through thick and thin and against all odds.

Flying to the edge of space, experiencing g-loads up to 7g and talking to our qualified pilots the flight participant developed tremendous and sincere respect for the people of such heroic, dangerous and difficult profession ready to defend their Motherland under any circumstances and any conditions.

Any pilot dreams of flight weather with unlimited visibility. Our guest from Germany was amazingly lucky: bright February skies without any cloud and MiG-29 UB jetfighter waiting at the airfield for the pilots to fly them to the Edge of space.

For me edge of space flight is a very exciting event, — our new sky Conqueror says.

Sure! You do not fly to the height of 18000 meters and experience g-loads up to 7g observing magnificent higher aerobatics not from the ground but from the cockpit every day. Sokol airbase museum visiting and memorable souvenirs became good addition to such interesting program.

Conquering new heights

It may take time and effort to become a sky conqueror. But if you are really willing to achieve something you will surely succeed! Just like our guest from France. He has dreamt of being a pilot from his early childhood but life has its own plans for us all and he got another profession but still couldn’t abandon his dream.

He had already flown lots of aircrafts and now long-awaited flight onboard MiG-29 jetfighter was recorded in his flight book.

So the hero of our story took the second pilot’s seat and performed Edge of space flight reaching the height of 17500 meters. G-loads up to 7g and breathtaking higher aerobatics became a wonderful addition to such an exciting program.

Sometimes having made your long-cherished dream come true you feel a kind of sad but luckily our guest left the airbase carrying the best and happiest impressions with him since there are still lots of flights to be performed and discoveries to be made. Experience has proven that even the most luxurious racecars men of all ages dream of pale in comparison with a jetfighter! To make it sure a well-known Ferrari race car test driver came to Nizhniy Novgorod Sokol Airbase. Being well-prepared for high speeds and g-loads and willing to test both himself and the aircraft he has chosen the most impressive program – Edge of Space Flight.

This adventure shifted all his expectations indeed: the aircraft flew to the height of 18300 meters and after that performed the inverted flight maneuver. Later there were all breathtaking higher aerobatics possible including tailslide, knife maneuvers, combat turns, rolls, etc., g-loads up to 8 g and burst of adrenaline.

To conclude the program our sky conqueror visited Sokol airbase museum and then left Nizhny Novgorod happy with this experience.

Through the Storm to the Skies

Late December the weather conditions leave much to be desired. On December 22 when our guest from Germany came to Sokol airbase together with his son to perform the flight onboard jet fighter it was snowing heavily.

The snowstorm was near to interfere with their plans but as it is well-known MiG-29 is an all-weather jet fighter and our pilots are real professionals in their field thus how could we allow to disappoint our guest? Heavy clouds upon the airfield and snow storm cannot stop those who dreams about skies and aircrafts, our jet fighter flies higher and higher taking our brave pilot to the height of 18000 meters while his son was watching the flight from the observation point. One day he will take the seat of the second pilot either, and probably even the seat of the first pilot, who knows.

Youth, adventures, adrenaline

We started winter season with two Edge of Space flights. Young Israel citizen was the first to fly. Our guest turned out to be a very cheerful person; he showed great interest to everything related to aviation, asked the instructors and pilots a lot of questions on this subject.

Without any doubts such astonishing busy program as Edge of Space flight shifted all his expectations; curved horizon, g-loads up to 6,5 g, breathtaking higher aerobatics just cannot leave indifferent those who dreamt of skies as a child.

Our second pilot got his flight as a gift from his colleagues. He received Edge of Space flight certificate in summer but took a decision to use it just now, closer to the New Year since it is the time when not only children but grown-ups as well long for wonders and adventures.

The Japanese in the Edge of Space

Japan rapidly develops its aviation and space program: Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata has just returned from the orbit and the next Japanese astronaut Kimiya Yui is going to fly to the ISS onboard Soyuz TMA-17M spacecraft in 2015 and naturally Japanese tourists show great interests to everything concerning aviation and space topic.

This August Vegitel Company arranged Edge of Space flights for the guests from the Land of the rising sun. Weather conditions of Russian summer were perfect and our brave pilots got a great deal of emotions, adrenaline and wonderful impressions. Among them were also the ladies and by the way it was the first time Japanese women went to the Edge of Space.

Japanese delegations visited Baikonur with us during prelaunch operations and observed the launch of the rocket, greeted the cosmonauts back on the Earth in Kazakhstan and studied space simulators in Star City. And now the time has come to conquer the sky!

We’ve arranged for our guests from Japan an aerospace program that started with visit to world-famous Gagarin cosmonaut training centre in Star City. The participants studied Soyuz TMA spacecraft simulators, visited Hydrolaboratory where the cosmonauts practice EVA and Centrifuge-18 that enables the cosmonauts to practice different g-loads.

The aero part of the program followed the space one. Our delegation went to Nizhniy Novgorod to accomplish the main goal of their visit to Russia – to perform a flight onboard MiG-29 jetfighter. On a frosty January day after medical check, briefing and detailed discussion of the program with the pilot the guest performed his long-awaited edge of Space flight and when he descended from the space height performed for his friends watching the flight breathtaking higher aerobatics. After that the guests visited JSC “Sokol” museum.

Tour to Nizhniy Novgorod is a wonderful opportunity not only to have an extreme experience but also to get to know one of the most interesting and ancient city of Russia. That’s why we included Nizhniy Novgorod excursion tour in our guests’ program during which they saw many sights, beautiful monasteries, embankment and the Kremlin of Nizhniy while the restaurants met our gusts with warmth and hospitality in such frosty weather.

To the heaven for the dream. Spiritual flight.

Today Father Iov is called the confessor of cosmonauts. During recent 10 years, priest Iov has not only become the spiritual mentor of the cosmonaut team, but himself has actively participated in the cosmonaut training, he has performed many zero gravity flights, trainings in the Hydrolaboratory, flights in the L-39, many times has followed cosmonauts to Baikonur and met the crews returning to the ground from the space flights .

Being a schoolboy, future priest dreamed of becoming a cosmonaut. And even was getting ready to enter the flight school, in order to try to pass through the selection to become a cosmonaut. But the Lord took him in a different way. And nevertheless interest in space flights has not disappeared. Seeing how well and wisely our world is arranged, the heart of the priest dragged more to the One who created it all.

And today Father Iov, with God’s help and Vegitel support, decided to climb up to the new height for himself, rise to the Edge of Space in order to get as close as possible to his old dream. And to complete this flight he came with a space mentor – Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot cosmonaut of USSR Alexandr Stepanovich Viktorenko.

A gift for a real man

February does not usually please us with a good weather. It is too changeable. Sometimes we’ve got slush, sometimes – hard frosts. And a lot of people would like to forget about what’s going on outside at least for a short time. Somebody flies away to warm countries; others warm them up nearby the fireplace. And only devotees of adrenaline buzz choose the unusual way to forget about extreme weather.

On February 18 we organized such opportunity for Andrey– the real fan of the sky, who has tested a lot of types of aircrafts. But our pilot was quite unfamiliar with MiG-29UB. And this machine met all his venturous expectations. Because “Edge of space” flight is a unique experience that was previously available only for professional fighter pilots. This time our hero managed to see the Earth almost from the space altitude with his own eyes.

Also the impressive set of aerobatic maneuvers demonstrated by a namesake of our sky conqueror, Andrey Pechenkin, test pilot of Sokol plant, is worthy of great respect. Such things are feasible for real men only. And the fact that this flight was presented to Andrey as a gift certificate proves one more time that we still have real men around, which deserve such gifts.

Season 2013 is opened!

New Year holidays have just passed and our brave Sky conquerors opened new flight season.

It was our guests Nicolay and Julia who performed the very first flight in 2013. Russian winter weather with its snowfalls and banks of snow couldn’t frighten and prevent them from performing the flight and even made such an unusual adventure as jet fighter flight much more exciting, adding to it a shade of fairy tale.

Russians conquer the edge of space

October came to an end. But despite the nasty weather of inter-season period, all-weather Mig-29UB jet fighters with Russian second pilots onboard conquer the edge of space.

Severe weather conditions, even ice rains and strong winds could not prevent our brave sky lovers from performing the flights.

Owing to Vegitel, Petr, Igor and Leonid had the thrilling experience and the fact that flights were performed in almost extreme conditions makes these unforgettable impressions even more bright and colorful. With full-HD video films of their own flights our pilots will be able to recall those great moments when like professional jet fighter pilots they struggled with the weather at the breaking point of human and machine possibilities.

Squadron of «US pilots» performed their personal air show

On August12, 2012 Russia celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Air Force. Performances of aerobatic teams in Zhukovski demonstrated that Russian pilots are the world-best in flying combat airplanes

Continuing the anniversary celebration, on August 13 and 14 our company arranged our own air show with Mig-29 jet fighter, where six US tourists were involved

Matt, Peter, Yanik, Benjamin, Jeffrey and Chi ho made a real competition among each other with help of experience and professionalism of Russian test pilots – Sergei Kara and Andrei Pechenkin.

G-loads of 6.5 G, 7G, 7.2G, 8G, 8.2G, 8.5G, at the same time all «US pilots» completed the «Edge of space» flights and watched the Earth from the altitude greater than 20 kilometers, and accomplished aerobatics maneuvers would make envious even professional pilots

Joy, delight, emotional outburst, happiness and satisfaction from perfectly completed flights can be positively called a personal air show, conducted by Vegitel for our guests.

Edge of space flight for Julia Li

On the 10th, May our company has met the guest from China, whose name is Julia Li. Julia is the first woman of China, who has performed the “Edge of Space” flight on MiG-29. Also Julia is one of the most impressive businesswomen of the world. She is the founder of HCD Global, a leading education technology group based in China.

Her visit took place as part of a mission to support innovative education through the experience of space travel.

Nevertheless Julia’s flight was not only business, it sooner was realization of her blue child’s dream.

After the flight Julia said:
«Today’s voyage also has personal significance. I have long had a fear of heights. I continue fighting to stretch my ‘comfort zone’ to overcome this fear. In sharing my experience, I hope that others will be inspired to face their own challenges with a positive attitude. It is core to the process of learning and growing.”

It’s also worth mentioning, that longing to overcome the fear of heights Julia Li raised to the height of about 20 km!

Program for our German guests

On the 3rd of April our company has organized and maintained the program in Nizhniy Novgorod for the German guests: Christian Oltersdorf and his wife.

Light pleasure flight could have not satisfied Christian, so he decided to gain maximum of impressions. During 45 minutes of flight Christian performed all the aerobatics and overcame the sonic speed. Now he can proudly say that he actually knows what it is like to be a pilot of a modern jet fighter.

Both guests had the full spectrum of positive emotions of the jet fighter adventure and of visiting Russia. We wish them to stay cheerful and we are waiting for them to come again!

Double flights to the edge of space

On the 15th, December our company organized two Edge of Space flights!

The first guest who reached the edge of space was the USA resident Peter J. Houston.

Nizhny Novgorod didn’t indulge us with good weather, but for the all-weather warplane under the control of the most skilled pilot Y. Poliakov the Honored Pilot of the Russian Federation there could be no barrier such as snowstorm. Huston tremendously impressed with the MiG-29 flight, so he could only say after the landing: “Fantastic!”

The next flight was performed by the real epical hero with remarkable sense of humor – the guest from Latvia named Janis Stepanovs.

Even being an uncommonly huge man, Janis felt no discomfort, flying on the jet fighter. After the landing he expressed his delight with one humorous word, pronounced with the cutest Lettish accent: “Awesome!”

Both cheerful and happy tourists have finished the flight season of 2011. On this positive note we would like to congratulate our guests and you with The New Year, and invite you to experience such an unforgettable adventure in 2012!

Observing the space

Our company has successfully organized the Edge of Space flight for a foreign citizen. This time the observation of the Earth from the height of 20 km. was held by a Swiss tourist Michael Bruning.

We congratulate Mr. Brunung with such a significant event and we wish him to continue the heights subjugations and new horizons discovering!

An unforgettable gift!

On the 25th, November 2011 our company organized the flight for a guest from snow-covered Siberia, the happy owner of a gift certificate, which was presented him by his friend, who had already fulfilled his own dream – an accomplishing of the flight on MiG-29.

Veritable Siberian weather had seized Nizhny Novgorod: the snowstorm continued all day long, but regardless of it the flight had been perfectly accomplished owing to the mastership and professionalism of the 1st class test-pilot, the Honored Pilot of Russian Federation Yuri Poliakov!

Record g-force

On 26, October Vegitel company had organized the jet MiG-29 flight for a British tourist Peter Riddle.

The dream-flight was presented to Peter by his beloved wife Gale and daughter Katrin with whom he came to Russia. Despite the age – this year Peter had celebrated the 61st birthday, — our guest decided to experience being the test pilot in full. While making the plan of the program, he had chosen to the most difficult elements of advanced aerobatics.

In the capacity of the first pilot was the Honoured Test Pilot of the Russian Federation Sergey Kara. Under his command the brave 61-years-old Englishman accomplished the figures of advanced aerobatics and established a new record of «Sokol» airbase. The new record of underwent overload is 9.1G!

Pete’s family can be proud of their relative and we are always glad to further dreams to come true and records to be established!

Program for our guests from Spain

10, October 2011 Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre was visited by the group of Spanish tourists. The group included local Spanish TV representatives, company “Telefonica” promoters and the main hero of the program – Josu Feijoo

Josu is well known all over Spain as the first diabetic, who conquered Mount Everest, the North Pole, accomplished enormous pedestrian crossings over various world routes. Mr. Feijoo had visited GCTC before to have a training in Centrifuge TzF-18, but this time his program was much more eventful and complicated.

Several months ago Josu decided to accomplish the training of extravehicular activity on the base of the unique Hydrolaboratory in GCTC. Finally, after thorough negotiations, the program had been established and Mr. Feijoo came to Russia.

Our Spanish guests spent the 1st day of the program (Monday, October 10) in Gagarin Cosmonaut Centre. In the morning took place the meeting with the administrator of GCTC and one of the most outstanding cosmonauts of our time – Sergey K. Krikalev. Sergey gave an interview to the local Spanish TV and had a talk with Mr. Feijoo and wished him all the luck. After the interview all group headed for the acquaintance with the main objects of GCTC. They visited famous Centrifuge TzF-18, simulators “Soyuz-TMA”, “Mir”, “ISS”. Also Josu Feijoo accomplished the training in special space-suit “Sokol” and got into the simulator “Soyuz-TMA”. Afterwards the medical examination took place, and proved that Mr. Feijoo is able to accomplish the training in Hydrolaboratory in spite of his ailment. The day turned out to be so rich in events, that even dull autumn rain and piercing cold wind could not spoil the impressions of heat-loving Spanish guests.

The next day the training in Hydrolaboratory took place. The GCTC specialists managed with their aim perfectly: Josu Feijoo, staying underwater in a special space suit “Orlan” assisted by several divers accomplished the training-imitation of extravehicular activity..

“I never thought that it’s so hard.” Said Josu after the training, “I can’t even imagine how cosmonauts spend 6 hours underwater and carry out all the tasks. Without any doubt it deserves due respect!”

Josu’s blue dream is to become a real cosmonaut. He was born with a terrible diagnosis — diabetes. And from the childhood he longed to prove, that people, depended on insulin injections, can do as much and even more as healthy people. In the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre Josu Feijoo made another small step on the stairway to his dream.

In a few hours after the training Mr. Feijoo was taken to Nizhny Novgorod to experience a training flight on the supersonic jet fighter MiG-29. The training flight began early in the morning, on October 12. The weather conditions were really stark: strong wind was blowing and the sky was cloudy. But even this fact couldn’t make a hindrance for the specialists of “Sokol” airbase. They managed to lead the flight with the elements of advanced aerobatics. Josu was at the place of second pilot, and he was allowed to rule the jet fighter for some time, but the actual pilot was Honoured 1st class test pilot of Russian Federation Yuri Poliakov. During the flight Yuri carried out such figures like “Bell”, “Barrel Roll”, “Looper” and others. The flight lasted 45 minutes and after the triumphal landing, our happy Spanish guest headed back to Moscow.
